Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. This role requires proficiency in dental terminology, medical documentation, and familiarity with various dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners. Record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant medical documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Assist with medical imaging and document procedures using appropriate medical coding standards. Maintain sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of the clinical environment according to infection control guidelines. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions using clear dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms. Certification or training in X-ray techniques and infection control protocols. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding standards. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
