Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our family owned dental clinic. Prior understanding of dental techniques, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is beneficial, but will offer on-the-job training if need be! Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation. Provide chairside assistance during various dental treatments including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontic dentistry. Monitor vital signs and ensure patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic to ensure an efficient workflow. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Requirements High school diploma/GED or actively working on it. Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality is advantageous. Experience with medical imaging techniques is advantageous. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while managing multiple tasks. Strong communication skills to interact with patients of all ages.
