Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Peru, IN

Job description Ladd Dental Group, Inc. is a family-owned dental practice with several locations in Indiana. We are currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant - EFDA for our office in Peru, IN. This assistant will: Review the dayâs treatment being done and medical history including updating any medical issues, allergies, and medications, record all changes, take and record blood pressure, obtain patients signatures and notify Hygienist or Dentist of any significant changes in health, and take X-rays; if needed. Provide expanded duties. Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and assist the dentist using 4-hand dentistry. Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic; as requested by dentist, pouring and trimming study models. Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Document dental care services by charting in patient records. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Must be X-ray certified. Must have at least 1 year of experience as an Expanded Dental Assistant, including general understanding of dental terms, equipment, and procedures and Dental Assistant Training and Certification Must have completed the appropriate expanded duties training course OR have at least 1 year on the job training with expanded duties and x-ray certification. Means to travel from one office to another. Preferred: Bilingual preferred. CPR and First-Aid certification preferred.
