Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality dental services while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patients. Duties Assist dentists during clinical procedures including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control standards. Take dental radiographs (X-ray) using appropriate techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality. Operate electronic medical system, we use Dentrix Asend, to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Manage patient intake by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding. Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic to prevent infection and ensure compliance with health regulations. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental reception staff as needed. Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote overall dental wellness. Stay current with industry standards by participating in ongoing training related to dental terminology, medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and emerging technologies. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Experience with chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision. Familiarity with medical documentation standards and medical coding for billing purposes. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow. Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics for accurate documentation and communication. Experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on infection control and safety protocols. We do prefer three 12 hours shifts 7a-7p, we can be flexible with four 10 hours shifts if needed.
