Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall oral health education. This role requires a professional with strong clinical skills, knowledge of dental procedures, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing teeth to remove plaque, calculus, and stains. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with safety protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or contraindications for dental procedures. Collaborate with dentists on patient care plans and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics is preferred. Skilled in chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and understand medical imaging procedures. Familiarity with general dentistry practices, including documentation review and medical coding. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper handling of medical records. Strong communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
