Responsibilities: Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth Take and develop dental x-rays Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed Assist the dentist during procedures, including charting and documenting patient information Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique Provide dental care to pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience Qualifications: Valid dental hygiene license in Indiana Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Proficiency in using dental software for medical records management (e.g., CAD) Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options Experience in dental assisting is a plus Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
