Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Greenwood, IN
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong commitment to promoting oral health. This role involves performing dental cleanings, conducting patient assessments, and providing education on oral hygiene practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists and other team members to ensure the highest level of patient care in a friendly and professional environment. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient documentation and records management. Assist in chairside procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical records management. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes to support effective communication within the team. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general dentistry and specialized pediatric dentistry settings. Experience Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental assisting practices. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient record keeping is advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology is essential for effective patient care. Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, as well as proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dental diagnostics.
