Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support our team in delivering comprehensive dental services. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment, with experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. The Dental Hygienist will utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health of patients Conduct patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans tailored to pediatric and adult patients Document treatment procedures accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix Collaborate with dentists during chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness Ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality Support infection control practices, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a sterile environment Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review standards to ensure compliance Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and documentation review processes Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and medical records management Prior dental office or clinic experience preferred; internship experience is acceptable for recent graduates Join our team to provide outstanding dental care in a professional environment that values expertise, compassion, and continuous learning.
