Registered Dental Hygienist - ODA Primary Health Care Network - Brooklyn, NY

Job Title: Dental Hygienist Description: Dental hygienists provide treatment to prevent cavities and gum diseases. They counsel patients on the importance of good nutrition for oral health and teach proper hygiene techniques for teeth and gums. Administrative / Executive Duties: None Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain aseptic techniques and ensure the sterilization of instruments used; report any missing or broken instruments. Provide patient care without regard to age, race, color, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, sex, or national origin. Deliver dental services including cleanings, x-rays, sealants, and impressions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene procedures. Document all procedures performed and any relevant findings in the patient’s dental chart. Notify dentists of any relevant findings requiring a dentist’s attention, and document these in the patient’s chart. Educate and instruct dental assistants in their duties and ensure open communication to enhance the efficient functioning of the health center.
