Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Omaha, NE
Overview Our office is a well established (26 years) small but hi-tech office that believes in treating patients and staff like family. We are not a large corporate type office and still see one patient at a time. We work hard but have fun doing it in a stress free environment! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled licensed Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health for our patients. Looking for someone available for either Mondays (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or Thursdays (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or full time Monday through Thursday Conduct thorough dental cleanings. Perform root planing and sub-gingival curettage, as necessary Perform patient assessments and documenting medical histories including periodontal charting. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for patient records management and documentation review. Use Intra-oral camera as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings. Stay updated on infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to enhance patient safety and care quality. Take dental x-rays as needed Check to see that all previously recommended operative work has been completed. If not, encourage the patient to have it done. Schedule the next hygiene appointment Prepare your room for the next patient Spend chair time educating patients Experience Candidates should possess a strong background in dental hygiene with experience in the following areas: Proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry. Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures. Ability to provide effective local anesthetics. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic environment is preferred.
