Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining patient safety and comfort Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient medical histories to support comprehensive treatment planning Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient communication Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous for efficient record management Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding enhances your ability to support integrated healthcare services Hands-on experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners is desirable Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and dental assisting procedures is essential Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus Strong communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient-facing roles help foster positive patient experiences Join us to make a meaningful difference in patientsâ lives through compassionate care and technical excellence.
