Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and/or Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chairside assisting, dental procedures, and patient care, with the ability to support both general and specialized dentistry services. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and adhering to the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, limited ortho and implant dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Record vital signs and medical history utilizing Eaglesoft software system( will train) Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Support infection control protocols and maintain sterilization standards across the clinic. Assist with medical imaging procedures and document clinical notes using appropriate dental terminology and medical coding practices. Perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and current best practices in dental assisting. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office setting is preferred, especially with general dentistry, prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and ortho. Proficiency in Eaglesoft software system is highly desirable. (will train) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging including 3D scanners, and medical documentation is advantageous. Familiarity with dental assisting certifications or EFDA credentials will be considered a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proficiency in medical coding enhances candidate suitability.
