Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow. Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials following strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental maintaining HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient confidentiality. Greet patients warmly at the front desk, verify insurance information, schedule appointments, and handle medical documentation with precision. Measure vital signs and record medical history to support comprehensive patient assessments. Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including managing medical records, medical coding, and updating dental terminology for accurate documentation. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong proficiency in chairside assisting across multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Hands-on experience in dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical assessments; knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding is advantageous. Prior dental clinic experience in general dentistry or specialty practices preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental anatomy, dental terminology, and the clinical workflow involved in comprehensive patient care.
