Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Las Vegas, NV

The Future Smiles Dental/Office Assistant works in a school-based health setting and are responsible for supporting dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. This position is also responsible for handling organizational and clerical support tasks. This may include organizing files, scheduling appointments, writing copy, proofreading, receiving guests and more, depending on the company and its needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures all Future Smiles core values are implemented and applied. Helps with case management calls to patients and their families. Ensures that the Future Smiles dentist and dental hygienists clinical schedules are properly filled. Presents efficiency with working with Dentrix software program. Properly manages all dental insurance claims and information. Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols. Prepares patient for dental and dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient. Provides information to patients and other employees by answering questions and requests. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentistâs access; suctioning; passing instruments. Helps dentist(s) and dental hygienist(s) manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Documents dental care services by charting in patient records. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control polices. Fields telephone calls, receives and assists visitors, uses word processing, creates spreadsheets and presentations, files, and faxes. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned. Age: 18 years of age or above. Education and/or Experience: Minimum 1 year of dental experience preferred. Certificate from a Dental Assisting Program preferred. X-Ray license and CPR Certification preferred . Minimum 1 year of office assistant experience preferred. Understanding of infection control and dental health promotion and maintenance. Demonstrated use of medical and dental technologies; performing diagnostic procedures; patience and beside manners. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (30) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.
