Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. An understanding of dental procedures are essential for success in this role, but willing to train the right candidate. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering comprehensive dental services. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures using chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments efficiently. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including data entry into EMR systems and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards is required to ensure patient confidentiality and safety. Certification or training in X-ray technology and chairside assisting is preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the dental team and educate patients of all ages.
