Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, cavity detection, and applying fluoride treatments. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Review medical records for relevant health information and coordinate with the dental team for comprehensive patient care. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, ensuring a gentle approach for young patients. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Assist with general dentistry procedures as needed, including documentation review and medical coding. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Experience with pediatrics, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques. Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret medical imaging results. Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical coding, and medical terminology. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols in a dental setting. Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices is preferred; familiarity with EMR systems is essential.
