Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Dallas, TX

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. Prior experience with dental software and a strong understanding of dental terminology are highly preferred. Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or other EMR platforms Manage patient scheduling, check-in/check-out processes, and maintain medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Assist with sterilization procedures and maintain infection control standards throughout the clinic Support administrative tasks related to medical coding, medical records management, and billing processes as needed Ensure the clinical environment adheres to all safety standards including proper handling of dental instruments and materials Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms Knowledge of dental software applications including medical documentation and medical coding Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners is a plus Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and general dentistry procedures Experience working in pediatric dentistry or with pediatric patients is advantageous Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is ideal for candidates committed to providing exceptional patient care in a professional setting.
