Duties - Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals - Conduct routine dental examinations and provide preventative care - Diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions - Create treatment plans for patients based on their oral health needs - Administer anesthetics to patients to minimize pain during procedures - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices - Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists to ensure efficient patient care - Stay up-to-date with advancements in dental technology and techniques Requirements - Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school - Valid state dental license to practice dentistry - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality - Proficiency in CAD software for designing dental prosthetics - Experience with medical imaging techniques for diagnosing oral health issues - Strong patient assessment skills to identify dental problems and develop appropriate treatment plans - Excellent medical documentation skills for accurately recording patient information and treatment plans - Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry - Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment - Understanding of medical coding systems for accurate billing and insurance claims - Proficiency in dental practice management software - Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide compassionate care Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
