Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems, with a focus on pediatric and general dentistry. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient education, assessment, and treatment planning, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Responsibilities Perform Periodontal Charting, dental prophylaxis, SRP, and polishing procedures with precision and care Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Take dental radiographs using appropriate aseptic techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment options tailored to their needs Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems, ensuring HIPAA compliance Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy Support infection control protocols following OSHA standards and sterilization procedures Monitor patient comfort during procedures and provide excellent patient care throughout visits Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient treatment Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical imaging procedures Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including vital signs measurement and medical assessments Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Prior experience working in dental office or clinic environments preferred but not required This position is integral to delivering comprehensive dental care while fostering a welcoming environment for patients of all ages.
