The position involves working closely with pediatric and general dentistry cases, utilizing advanced imaging technologies like 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Monitor vital signs and provide basic patient care before, during, and after procedures Maintain aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control within the clinic Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating with dental reception staff Stay current with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with general dentistry procedures preferred Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical imaging equipment is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively while maintaining patient comfort Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and orthodontics Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages including pediatrics Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework is preferred but not mandatory for internship positions Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail This role provides an engaging opportunity for motivated individuals committed to delivering high-quality dental care while advancing their skills within a supportive team environment.
