Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to uphold strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are readily available. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to ensure precise documentation of patient information and treatment history. Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology knowledge and technical skills during procedures involving restorations, extractions, or endodontic treatments. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment aligned with infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term oral health. Collaborate with the team to implement new technologies such as intraoral scanners or digital imaging tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient management of medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with dental radiography techniques including X-ray imaging and 3D scanning technology. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and handling young patients with care and professionalism. Expertise in chairside assisting across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Skilled in infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and maintaining sterile environments within the clinic setting. Knowledge of dental assisting best practices including medical coding, documentation accuracy, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages as well as team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists. Familiarity with advanced dental technologies like intraoral scanners or digital imaging devices enhances diagnostic capabilities.
