Dentist Position Summary: The Dentist provides high-quality, patient-centered, culturally competent dental care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients within Shawnee Christian Healthcare Centerâs Dental Clinic. This position supports SCHCâs mission by delivering comprehensive oral health services, promoting prevention and education, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The Dentist collaborates closely with the Dental Director, dental assistants, and primary care teams to improve oral health outcomes and access to care. Job Qualification and Requirements: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited program. Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Kentucky. Current DEA license (or ability to obtain) BLS/CPR certification required Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred (new graduates considered). Experience in community health, public health dentistry, or FQHC setting preferred. Experience with electronic dental record systems (NextGen preferred). Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is performed in dental exam rooms and an office environment Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact may involve dealing with sick persons. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds.
