Job Duties and Other Information Position-Specific Details: Location: LSU Health New Orleans 1100 Florida Blvd New Orleans, LA 70119 Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday Appointment Type: Probationary Appointment-This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months. Compensation: Rate of Pay is dependent upon applicants' qualifications. This position is part of a CPG, as part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Dental Assistant 1 or 2) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). As a Dental Assistant 1 or 2 you will Assist in the care of handling of patients during dental treatment which involves setting up, missing, and passing of surgical instruments and materials, taking radiographs, patient education and giving post-operative instructions, cleaning and disinfecting treatment areas after procedures. Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to: Assist dentists and dental students with chair side treatment of patients. Give fluoride treatments as directed by dentist or student Expose digital radiographers and expose and develop traditional radiographers and digital photographs. Instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain and stock cabinet Check inventory and order supplies when needed. Chart patients according to LSUSD systems Knowledgeable of computers.
