The Dentist is responsible for providing general dental services, will assist in establishing standards of dental service and developing organizational plans to carry out a team approach to comprehensive dental, medical, and nutritional service. This position will work under the supervision of the Dental Director, and will focus on the practice of preventive dentistry and comprehensive oral education, complemented by the delivery of exceptional oral health care that caters to both the immediate and long-term needs of our patients. Location and Schedule: This position will work at our Los Banos Dental Clinic, scheduled Monday - Friday, 7:45am-4:30pm. Located in California’s beautiful Central Valley, Los Banos offers a unique blend of rural charm and modern convenience: lush wildlife habitat, a vibrant downtown, strong community spirit, affordable housing, and access to major destinations—all in one friendly city. It’s the perfect place to live, work, and explore! Compensation: $165,000 - $182,000 Guaranteed Annual Salary; Sign On Bonus and Relocation Assistance Eligible. About Golden Valley Health Centers Dental Services: The Dental Services Program is responsible for the delivery of quality dental services in the context of our integrated medical-dental ambulatory setting. We provide an extensive array of dental services, covering a broad spectrum of care, all underscored by a robust emphasis on promoting oral health and proactively preventing dental issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to diagnose and provide treatment to patients of all ages, including pediatrics Pre-operative and post-operative care of the routine patient, I & D of abscess, simple extractions. Soft tissue impacted extraction, surgical extraction. Composite posterior and anterior, Stainless Steel crown and simple crowns and build ups Management and treatment of periodontal disease – includes root planning, scale prophy and management of periodontal disease. Management of uncomplicated Denture, Acrylic Partials, Adjustments, Tissue Conditioning and Relines Other Procedures Fabrication of soft/hard night guards Occlusal Adjustment/Quad Gingevectomy/Quad Alveolectomoy Space maintainers Tooth Splint Sealants Root Canal Treatment Adherence to GVHC rules and policies. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels). Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually average. Job Knowledge: Authorize knowledge of the principles, practice and techniques of dentistry. Special knowledge in the prevention aspects of oral health and its related techniques and procedures. Experience and understanding of dental health education methods. Basic understanding of nutrition. Experience: Professional experience in clinical dentistry preferable. Working or desire to work in rural community setting with many ethnic groups. Education: Graduation from an accredited dental school.
