Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for our patients, including pediatric populations. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain oral health of patients. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental instruments are properly disinfected. Assist with patient care coordination, including appointment scheduling and documentation review. Support general dentistry procedures as needed, including pediatric dentistry cases. Ensure compliance with all dental terminology standards and medical coding requirements. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing. Proven experience in dental office settings; experience with dental clinic operations is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient care procedures. Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical coding standards. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment in general dentistry settings.
