Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure efficient patient care. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control standards. Manage patient records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to uphold the highest standards of safety. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed and managing medical documentation. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless four-handed dentistry practices for optimal efficiency. Assist with medical coding and documentation for insurance claims or medical records management related to dental treatments. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols within a dental setting. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable; experience working with children is preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members. Certification in X-ray radiography (as required by state law) is essential; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.
