Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to all health and safety regulations. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote optimal oral health for patients of all ages, including pediatric populations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments and sealants Take dental radiographs using medical imaging equipment while adhering to infection control protocols Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in Eaglesoft Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness Support infection control procedures using aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination Collaborate with the dental team on treatment planning and patient care strategies, including pediatric dentistry when applicable Stay current with advances in dental terminology, medical coding, and general dentistry practices Requirements Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Illinois Proficiency with Eaglesoft is highly preferred Experience working in a dental office or clinic setting, especially with general dentistry procedures Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently and effectively during patient care Strong understanding of patient assessment, vital signs measurement, and documentation review processes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical records management Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position offers an opportunity to be part of a professional team committed to delivering high-quality dental care.
