Overview We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team. Duties Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, adjustments, and appliance fittings Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA and infection control protocols Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions and post-treatment maintenance Maintain aseptic techniques throughout all clinical procedures to prevent infection Skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality Experience with orthodontic procedures is preferred Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on aseptic technique and infection control standards Excellent communication skills suitable for patient education and team collaboration Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in medical documentation and records management This position provides an engaging opportunity for qualified orthodontic assistants eager to specialize further in orthodontics while supporting comprehensive patient care.
