Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice Saturday only . Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Schedule and confirm appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance providers, including Medicare and other third-party payers, utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Collect payments, process co-pays, and manage medical collections with accuracy and compliance. Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar platforms while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; address patient inquiries promptly and professionally. Manage incoming correspondence, file medical records accurately, and review documentation for completeness. Assist with insurance verification, billing procedures, and coding tasks including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and dental terminology to ensure precise documentation. Support clinic staff with medical administrative support tasks such as intake procedures, care plan documentation, and appointment rescheduling. Handle office management duties including filing, data entry with 10 key typing skills, and maintaining a tidy front desk environment. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to facilitate smooth clinic operations and provide excellent patient service. Qualifications Proven experience as Dental Receptionist with strong familiarity in dental office environments or clinics. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management systems such as Open Dental preferred. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms is highly desirable. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and experience with office management software. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks. Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems. Ability to handle medical billing processes including insurance verification, collections, and financial transactions accurately. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Able to assist dentist with chair side and taking dental X-rays X-ray and Fa certification is a plus.
