Overview We are a fast-paced, patient-focused orthodontic office in Aurora, CO, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting orthodontists in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, particularly in orthodontics, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilizing instruments and managing supplies. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for patient assessments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care specific to orthodontics. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment plans accurately. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality care for pediatric patients. Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Maintain accurate patient records within the clinic's systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Requirements Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to dentistry is essential. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable. Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care. Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to orthodontics is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, parents, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of orthodontics. Must travel between 2 offices.
