Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our dental practice, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients, and providing exceptional customer service. The Dental Receptionist will handle various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with insurance verification. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process. Schedule and confirm appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix. Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality. Verify insurance information and assist patients with understanding their coverage. Handle medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding and ICD-10 documentation review. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper filing of documents. Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, addressing patient inquiries effectively. Assist in the preparation of care plans and provide medical administrative support as needed. Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth office operations and excellent patient service. Utilize computer skills to manage appointment scheduling, patient intake forms, and other administrative tasks efficiently. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or Eaglesoft is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding is essential. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Proficient typing skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications are required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
