Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall success of our dental practice. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventative care strategies. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take digital imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories. Monitor and record vital signs before procedures, ensuring patient safety at all times. Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with infection control procedures, sterilization of instruments, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Expertise in chairside assisting with skills in dental imaging, dental coding, and documentation review. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental setting. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care and patient assessment protocols. Experience working in busy dental clinics or offices with a focus on patient care excellence.
