Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Bristol, CT

Job Summary-32 hours per week, 1-2 evenings needed We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support dental practitioners in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Prior experience with dental software and procedures is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. DANB/xray and infection control preferred or in process. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to infection control protocols Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration prior to treatment Manage medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Support dental reception duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Practice aseptic techniques and maintain infection control standards in all clinical activities Assist with medical imaging procedures and understand dental terminology for effective communication with patients and staff Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental care and assist in patient education Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and records management Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices within a dental setting Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques effectively Understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus Skills in medical coding related to dental procedures are advantageous Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records and managing supplies Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and teamwork within the dental clinic environment This position is ideal for individuals committed to providing exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical team.
