Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with various dental software systems. Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining efficient clinic operations and providing exceptional patient experiences. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper safety and aseptic techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict infection control standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices. Maintain sterilization protocols for all dental instruments and equipment, including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Ensure the clinical environment adheres to infection control standards and maintains a sterile setting at all times. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating patience and effective communication with young patients. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and records management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Experience working within general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Excellent communication skills to educate patients about procedures and oral health maintenance. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
