Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, patient education, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive treatment. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, as well as knowledge of pediatric dentistry and infection control protocols, is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and a thorough understanding of dental terminology and anatomy. Current hours: Mon: 8:30am-5:00pm, Wed: 8:30am-5:00pm, Fri: 8:30am-2:00pm. In March 2026 we will be adding another full day. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring patient safety through proper aseptic techniques. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote overall dental health. Review and document medical records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft. Ensure infection control standards are maintained according to OSHA guidelines and CDC recommendations. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Support general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry cases with specialized care when needed. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office environments or clinics; familiarity with dental assisting is a plus. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Strong understanding of anatomy, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and dental terminology. Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry settings preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Ability to work efficiently within a team while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
