Dental Assistant - Alaska Center for Oral and Facial Surgery - Anchorage, AK

Accredited Oral and Facial Surgery Center seeking to fill the position of Dental Assistant to assist the surgeons' chairside and actively facilitate patients’ pre-op to post-op in the surgical setting. You will apply surgical techniques and principles under the direction of oral surgeons and aid in maintaining a safe environment for patients. We are a close knit group seeking reliable team players to add to our team. Dental assisting experience is preferred but we will train the right person! Responsibilities Chairside assisting during surgeries. Knowledge of dental and medical terminology. Prepare rooms for procedures. Set up and clearing of all surgical instruments. Sterilization of instruments. Taking vital signs. Chart documentation. Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients. Comply strictly with medical care regulations and OSHA safety standards. Skills Proven work experience as an oral surgery or dental assistant. Knowledge of dental guidelines and procedures. Familiarity with advancements in taking x-rays and proper sterilization technique. Familiar with medical/dental terminology. Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task. Caring and compassionate. Team player with good communication skills. Dental experience preferred. Pay DOE.
