Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Phoenix, AZ

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Dental Administrative Specialist to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical billing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems, along with excellent communication skills and professionalism. Experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is highly preferred. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems such as Athenahealth and Meditech Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing dental scheduling software Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle medical billing including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare documentation review Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle appointment rescheduling and inquiries Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history, updating care plans, and reviewing documentation for accuracy Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective communication between departments Uphold confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Qualifications Prior experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role is strongly preferred; clinic or hospital experience is a plus Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing procedures including Medicare documentation requirements Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing) Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are highly desirable Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations Office experience in a healthcare setting is required; prior front desk or medical receptionist experience is preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment This position provides an essential role within our team by ensuring efficient office operations while delivering outstanding patient care.
