Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting. Prepare and sterilize instruments and dental equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including Dentrix and Eaglesoft, for patient management and scheduling. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure the clinic is well-stocked. Perform vital signs checks as needed and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems; experience with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques and medical imaging processes. Ability to take accurate vital signs and assist with various dental procedures. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. A commitment to patient care excellence and maintaining confidentiality in line with HIPAA standards. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
