Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, maintaining strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, accurately documenting medical history, treatment notes, and dental terminology. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures; assist with chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to ensure seamless patient flow. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures for all dental tools and equipment. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and the operation of a 3D scanner is highly desirable. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is preferred; certification in pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and assist with complex procedures across various specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
