Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, and vital signs collection. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools while maintaining aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Support infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment to prevent cross-contamination. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures and adapt communication styles for young patients. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation as needed. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics to support clinical operations effectively. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with dental assisting techniques is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards within a dental environment. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging, medical coding, and medical documentation practices. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry and working with diverse patient populations is preferred. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is required; additional certifications in radiography or pediatrics are a plus.
