Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Assist with patient assessment by reviewing medical history and current health status. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Use dental imaging equipment to capture intraoral images as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing materials. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Review medical records for relevant patient information prior to procedures. Ensure the clinical environment is sterile, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards. Participate in ongoing training related to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, medical coding, and documentation review. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry and four-handed dentistry techniques. Ability to perform patient care tasks including patient assessment and medical imaging. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with attention to detail in clinical procedures and recordkeeping.
