This role has a potential to grow full time in the next 3-4 months. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system OpenDental. Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as OpenDental for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a pediatric dentistry setting or pediatrics-focused practice. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures with excellent patient care skills. Familiarity with medical coding and medical records management to ensure accurate billing and documentation. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring to support comprehensive patient assessments.
