Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording patient information, vital signs, medical history, and treatment details in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with team members to practice four-handed dentistry efficiently, enhancing workflow and reducing procedure times. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting protocols and clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with experience using Epic or similar medical documentation platforms. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience supporting pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism and empathy. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification as required by state law; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatrics are a plus.
