Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained Review and update medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Monitor patient comfort throughout treatments, providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and documentation review procedures Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols and proper sterilization of instruments Support documentation review for medical coding, billing accuracy, and recordkeeping compliance Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dental practice with familiarity using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology Hands-on experience with chairside assisting, vital signs monitoring, dental imaging, and patient assessment techniques Previous exposure to pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, demonstrating comfort working with children of all ages Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and patient privacy standards Experience in infection control procedures within a dental office setting, ensuring aseptic technique at all times Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds while maintaining professionalism and empathy Join us in creating healthier smiles!
