Job Summary $15,000 SIGNING BONUS. WILL WORK IN OUR CHARLOTTESVILLE VA OFFICE We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a comfortable and efficient experience for all patients, including pediatric and general dentistry cases. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical coding. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Review medical records to ensure comprehensive patient documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry services by providing specialized care for children and adolescents. Ensure the clinical environment adheres to all safety standards, including infection control and anatomy knowledge. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Experience with pediatric dentistry, chairside assisting, and general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to dentistry. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, demonstrating excellent patient care skills. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management. Previous experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable.
