Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting, and familiarity with various dental software systems. The Orthodontic Assistant will work closely with orthodontists to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for our patients. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging as required. Utilize EMR systems for accurate patient documentation and record-keeping. Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Perform wire changes and adjustments of orthodontic wires for patients Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic impressions and treatment planning. Work with Orthodontist to bond Orthodontic brackets and Invisalign attachments Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in dental assisting, particularly in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical documentation Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
