Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specialty Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This is a traveling position to multiple offices . The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of dental procedures, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with specialists in various fields such as Periodontics, Endodontics and Orthodontics, contributing to comprehensive patient treatment plans. The successful applicant will be proficient in dental software systems, maintain strict infection control standards, and demonstrate excellent communication skills to ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Travel to multiple offices is required. Assist dentists during a variety of specialty procedures Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, capturing high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Take vital signs and medical history documentation for patients prior to procedures. Provide chairside assistance during complex treatments, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and comfort. Maintain accurate medical documentation and coding for insurance submissions and record keeping. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed. Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques relevant to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Requirements Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant license is required. Radiology certificate is required Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems, Denticon experience a plus! Experience with medical imaging including X-ray techniques and 3D scanning technology. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental setting. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
