Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting general and pediatric dentistry procedures, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems. Candidates with experience in dental office operations, pediatric dentistry, and proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix is highly preferred. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment procedures, and review documentation for completeness using EMR systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation review, and appointment scheduling. Uphold strict infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and maintenance of clinical areas. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proficiency with dental software Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Experience in general dentistry; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, chairside assisting, and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management. Strong understanding of dental assisting practices including aseptic technique and documentation review. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience in dental clinic or office settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
