Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties by handing instruments and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to document treatment details accurately. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionistâscheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and assisting with insurance or medical coding processes. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to procedures or dental terminology. Qualifications Prior experience in a dental clinic setting or familiarity with dental assisting duties is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is a plus. Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards within a clinical environment. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Ability to work collaboratively in four-handed dentistry setups alongside dentists and hygienists.
