We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices, with expertise in providing preventive and therapeutic services. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining oral health, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall dental operations while ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards. For a passionate and motivated candidate we offer incentive based compensation as well. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories , and reviewing dental records to inform treatment planning. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices , preventive care , and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Operate and interpret medical imaging equipment such as dental X-rays , ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe clinical environment Review medical coding and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and facilitate billing processes. Collaborate with the dental team to maintain high standards of patient care, efficiency, and professionalism. SCHEDULE AND WORK HOURS- FULL TIME AND PART TIME OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE. OFFICE HOURS Monday to Thursday 9 am to 5 pm and one Saturday a month from 9.00am to 4 pm. One hour lunch (UNPAID). Appointments are one hour/patient for preventive services, including sealants, prohpy,fluoride, x rays and other treatment modalities. TYPICAL HYGIENIST SCHEDULE 8- HOUR DAY depending on availability Consistent , predictable scheduling No late eveneings. Flexibility Options: Part-Time schedules available 2 days/week. work-Life balance encouraged. Experience Active Dental Hygienist license in MD. Minimum 1 year of dental office preferred. Prior experience working in general dentistry settings is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is essential for documentation and patient management. Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience in chairside assisting combined with strong skills in medical imaging and vital signs measurement. Familiarity with medical records review, medical coding practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements. At least one year of dental office or clinic experience that showcases excellent patient care skills and teamwork abilities. Strong understanding of General dentistry principles is advantageous for working effectively with patients.
